Section 13
Work and duties of the authority
The work and duties of the authority will be as follows:-
(a) To give suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the policies, plans and programs to be adopted by the Government of Nepal for the development of telecommunication services.
(B) To make telecommunication services and facilities accessible and reliable.
(c) Making necessary arrangements to provide basic telecommunication services and facilities in all urban and rural areas of Nepal.
(D) To make domestic and foreign private sector investors participate in the operation of telecommunication services.
(e) To provide telecommunication services and facilities to the general public, to arrange for coordination and healthy competition among those who provide such services and facilities.
(f) Setting standards, determining quality and approving telecommunication services and telecommunication-related devices and equipment.
(g) To regulate and organize telecommunication services.
(h) ……….. to grant license to operate telecommunication services.
(i) Approving and regularizing the fee charged by the licensee for providing telecommunication services.
(j) Doing frequency-related work in accordance with the policy determined by the Radio Frequency Policy Determination Committee (k) Conduct research on the development and use of new technology in the field of telecommunication.
(l) Developing skilled manpower for the field of telecommunications.
(D) Development and expansion of telecommunication services in order to protect the rights and interests of consumers.
(d) To develop Nepal as an international transit in relation to telecommunication.
(n) To do other necessary and appropriate work for the development and promotion of telecommunication services.
